In this article, we want to start talking about how your fuel needs to reflect the training you are doing and the goals you are working towards. In subsequent articles, we are going to give you a step by step rationale behind the overarching nutrition guidelines you will have seen on your app home screen and the principles that underpin them.
When trying to build muscle our training needs to be predominantly resistance based with a strong focus on increasing the volume our muscles can tolerate over time. Our goal is to try and increase the size and strength of muscles whilst keeping body fat levels as low as possible.
The guidelines we have provided you with should be used more as a reference point rather than getting hung up on the numbers side of things. However, If you have really specific body composition goals and timeframes, then you will need to track your food intake more closely.
